Grocer With a Heart Needs You!
Grocer with a Heart was born during the Covid season. A time of incredible challenge for our community convinced two members of the Brighton Church of Christ Fellowship that they could make a difference.
Grocer with a Heart is a ministry initiative that involves the distribution of fruit, vegetables, and grocery items that might otherwise be discarded. Cheryle Pinkess, the Manager builds connections with local supermarkets, farmers, and bakeries. This in turn means she is able to rescue valuable, nutritious food before it gets sent to landfill. There is little or no cost to the community. The shop is located at the rear of the Brighton complex. It has has a huge impact on both the church and the surrounding community since the beginning of the pandemic.
Cheryle Pinkess, the Manager is a finalist in Westfield’s Local Hero Promotion. Grocer with A Heart play Life FM and we love that our station is played in such a valuable ministry. Winners receive a $20,000 grant for their organisation. Voting is open until the 22nd of August. If you would like to support the team you can vote here.
