From August 2026, the Life FM Roadies will cease collecting plastic bread tags.
Since 2019, thanks to our partnership with Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs, our community has recycled more than 18 tonnes of bread tags, helping provide 171 wheelchairs to people in need in South Africa.
With South Australia’s ban on single-use plastics, plastic bread tags have now been replaced by cardboard alternatives. We’ve been amazed by the number of tags our community has held onto and dropped off for recycling through Transmutation in Robe.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project over the past seven years. Together, you’ve made an incredible difference to people and our environment.
Still have plastic bread tags? Lids4Kids will continue accepting them through their Zero Waste Warrior program.

The Life FM Roadies make Buddy Blankets for people experiencing homelessness, inspired by the Crisp Packet Project. Made from empty chip packets, the silver lining reflects body heat to create a warm, waterproof and portable blanket.
Each blanket features encouraging messages and Bible verses, helping each Buddy Blanket to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual warmth to those in hardship.
Through three Buddy Blanket drives and workshops across Adelaide, our community has made:
