Jaymi Humphreys is a distinguished psychotherapist, counsellor, and advocate with extensive experience in supporting individuals, couples, and families through various challenges, including mental health, attachment related issues, relationship conflict, disability, and domestic violence. With a rich educational background and a commitment to fostering healthy relationships, Jaymi brings both expertise and empathy to her roles.

Jaymi holds a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Clinical) from The University of Adelaide, a Bachelor of Laws from The University of South Australia, specialising in Human Rights Law, Criminal Law, and Family Law, and a Bachelor of Journalism from the same institution. She is currently finishing a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through The College of Law to pursue her dreams to work more in the legal advocacy space.

Jaymi has extensive experience providing counselling support to children, women, couples, and families affected by domestic violence. She has advocated for victims, facilitated therapeutic groups, and developed programmes aimed at promoting respectful relationships and preventing violence. In her roles, she has taken on leadership responsibilities, such as managing a team of clinicians, developing training programmes for local council on recognising and responding to abusive behaviour, and worked collaboratively with multiple organisations and medical providers to ensure holistic and accessible service delivery.

Since 2017, Jaymi has been the founder and driving force behind Art of Self Counselling, where she offers psychotherapy and counselling services. Jaymi’s approach is integrative and person-centred, employing evidence-based practices to support her clients’ mental health and wellbeing. Her predominant focus is on helping clients to develop the relationship with themselves. Her practice is dedicated to helping clients understand their concept of self through various short interventions to help individuals give themselves the support we often seek outside of ourselves.

Beyond her professional roles, Jaymi is committed to community engagement and advocacy. She frequently participates in local community events, serves as a guest speaker, and provides psychoeducation through collaborations with other services in the form of therapeutic groups. Her work aims to empower individuals with the tools and knowledge to navigate their personal, relational or mental health challenges and improve their overall quality of life.

With her dedication to fostering resilience and promoting healthy relationships, Jaymi Humphreys is a respected voice in the southern community in the field of psychotherapy and counselling, making a positive impact on the lives of those she serves.
