At Life FM, we love to celebrate those who are doing amazing work in the community. Below is a list of the wonderful people who have won our Heart for Adelaide Award. Support them in any way you can - whether visiting a small business, volunteering, or donating to further their causes.

2016

Cos We Care

A non-profit organisation dedicated to helping the less fortunate with food and basic grocery items and clothes.

Lugongwe Christian Community Centre & School

A non-profit organisation reaching out to the children of Uganda by providing them with education. Founded in 2010 by Moses and Coralee Kisakye. Run by a board of voluntary member they are continuing the building of Victoria Primary School and educating over 600 children.

Operation Christmas Child Samaritan’s Purse

An amazing group of volunteers that assisting in collecting, processing and distributing the many thousands of shoeboxes each year that bring joy to children and families in poor communities.

Pre-emptive Love Coalition - Deanna Djuric

Deanna has an amazing heart for people in war stricken countries. She uses her God given talent of creating a jazz music album “Through Stained Glass” to fundraise for the organisation “Pre-emptive Love Coalition.”.

St John Ambulance Australia SA - Volunteers

Passionate volunteers that care for people’s well-being and in saving lives is an inspiration to us all. They help through Event health services- first aid team, community services for eye care projects in Australia, East Timor and in Jerusalem. St John youth program cadets. 15,000 volunteers provide a range of important community services across the country who provide over 1 million hours of community service a year.

Teen Challenge SA

Thanking the many volunteers for their passion in assisting young people to rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. They have a strong commitment to making a real difference in people’s lives.

The Nappy Collective

A group that collect unused disposable nappies and redistribute them to organisations that support families in crisis or in need.

Unconditional Love All Creatures Great and Small Lisa Jane Roberts

Lisa has a big heart for animals. She makes beautiful hand -made crafted items to sell at markets to help many animal organisations. In particular she has been focusing upon fundraising for the Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Hospital.

2015

Andrew Stonehill Jesus Church Food Cafe

Andrew leads and trains a team of volunteers to provide 5 Star Restaurant standards and meals. Charging only $5 a head every Monday to Friday for Pensioners and the Unemployed to enjoy a delicious healthy meal.

Angel Gowns Australia

A registered charity run by a group of volunteers to who to touch the hearts of everyone who has suffered the tragic loss of their baby. The group make gowns for babies that have passed on from donated wedding gowns to create lasting memories.

Emergency Fire Relief Centre - Clovercrest Baptist Church

An amazing group of volunteers that have provided aid for the community during the Sampson Flat fires collecting food, clothes and house hold donations to provide for families affected by the fire. Volunteers worked around the clock day after day, sorting, packing items and distributed 600 food hampers.

Jarnell Hairdressing - Ranee Martin & Volunteers

Thanking Jarnell Hairdressing & volunteers for their “Salons againChild Slavery” fundraising efforts in supporting Destiny Rescue. Their mission is to rescue children from prostitution and trafficking in 7 countries. Thank you to all the hairdressers, beauty therapists and volunteers for their time and products that helped make this fundraiser come about.

Open Heart International

A team of nurses and doctors from around Australia who volunteer their time in developing countries to perform open heart surgery on children and young adults who would otherwise have poor quality of life and shortened life expectancy.

Second Chances Furniture Warehouse

Volunteers who generously give their time to help fundraise through second hand furniture sales plus arrange to source items needed for prisoners set up house once released.

Foodbank SA

Volunteers that assist in sorting and packing donated food in either prepared meals or food hampers to assist people in need.

Grandparents for Grandchildren

A not for profit community service organisation staffed by volunteers that provide a range of services to grandparents who are concerned about the welfare of their grandchildren who may be disadvantaged or in crisis. GFG works to support grandparents by providing material and emotional support and referral services.

Lyell McEwin Hospital Regional Volunteers Association

800 volunteers that help in many different areas at the hospital.

Paws & Claws

A group of volunteers that assist in reducing the number of unwanted cats & dogs being destroyed, through fostering and rehoming.

Second Chances Op Shop

Recognising the dedication, commitment, hard work of these volunteers that serve in various roles to help fundraise for families of prisoners in financial need.

The Big A Boutique (Church of Christ)

Arndale Salvation Army

Volunteers that prepare for the “Christmas Cheer” toy days. They process the toys that come from the Kmart Wishing Trees and make a beautiful display enabling parents, from less fortunate circumstances, to choose presents for their children.
