What is Aussie Grown Radio?

“I love hearing a new song….

I love seeing music played live, in a church, café, club or pub….

I love hearing the stories of how songs were written….”

These are the words of Rod Hanckel, better known on-air as Hank David – the man behind the vision for Aussie Grown Radio. Hank and his wife Nellie live on the Sunshine Coast in beautiful Queensland. Together, with the assistance of a small team, they produce a one-hour broadcast (Aussie Grown Across The Nation) which airs on 27 different community stations across Australia and 2 Christian networks in the US, featuring interviews and original songs from a range of artists across our country.

Hank and Nellie are passionate about supporting Aussie Christian artists.

In Hank’s words, “In Australia at this time, I firmly believe that there are brilliant singers, songwriters and musicians who also happen to be Christians. Some write their faith life into music; some write about life, using their faith as a base to remain positive and portray a positive message; some write about life with all of it’s mess and complications but remain personally grounded – sometimes in family and friends, sometimes in faith sometimes in both. I would LOVE to see more of ‘our’ songs reaching more people…..for God, for our artists and for the audiences who hear them.”
