Lunch Box Legends: 535 Smiling Faces

Across 12 schools, 535 students got a lunch box, thanks to our donors. Cos We Care delivered the donations by truck as there was “too much for [the] normal van,” says their Facebook page. Each lunch box is packed with food in the morning and cleaned in the afternoon, allowing kids to have food at school.

A lunch box might seem like a small gift, but it has a significant effect for two core reasons. Firstly, it allows children to concentrate. When hungry, focusing on other things besides the stomach can be difficult. The second reason is inclusion. Before, lunches were provided by disposable wrapping, but the gift of a lunch box lets kids feel equal in the playground. To be able to sit with their friends and eat a meal with them and “not [be] that kid on the side with nothing,” says Ann Cooper, the founder and coordinator of Cos We Care.

The team at Life FM wants to thank all the generous donors who supported this cause. We have impacted many lives!
